The geopolitical position of East and Central Europe is fundamentally defined by the U.S., Germany, and Russia. The region’s position in the U.S. strategic thinking, as well as the interaction between the three powers identified above are of vital importance for the peoples and nations in East and Central Europe. As the geopolitical positions of the countries in the region tend to differ in various aspects, the comparative study of the U.S. strategies towards the individual sub-regions needs careful analysis too.
